Shibui 18 Year Sherry Cask Single Grain Japanese Whisky was born in Kumesen Distillery, built in 1952 on the southern tip of the Japanese Island of Okinawa. It has been distilled once in traditional Japanese stainless steel pot still, before being matured in manzanilla and fino casks for 18 years. Expertly crafted from special Indica Rice and Okinawan black koji, bottled at 40% alc/vol.
Tasting Notes
NOSE: Oakiness on the nose, with milk chocolate, dried cranberry, slightly bitter cherry notes, hints of toffee, and muted wood spices.
PALATE: Citrus freshness,vanilla fudge, ginger snap spiciness, licorice, walnut, and fresh fig.
FINISH: Lime and green melon.
