Redwood Empire is more than a cool name, its our home and a source of inspiration. With John Muir as our guide, protecting our environment has become our mantra. We have built sustainability into everything we do.

Our still allows us to distill in a single pass, preserving both water and energy. Local farmers use our nutrient rich mash as feed for livestock. And our state of the art water reclamation facility assures only pure water re-enters our water table.

Our distillery is in the heart of the Russian River Valley wine region. It was carved out of the buildings originally housing an apple canning and processing plant owned by the Hallberg family, one of the area’s preeminent families during “West County’s” apple production heyday. The Hallbergs were known for producing a wide variety of apple products, mainly under the Redwood Empire label. Today, the facility and the climate make this the ideal place to make great whiskey, with plenty of relics on site to remind us of our ties to a rich agricultural history.

We are proud to introduce Redwood Empire, world-class Whiskeys that look like nothing else in the category. Each product is named for an iconic Redwood tree and features unique and disruptive woodcut art depicting different caricatures of John Muir. These are products which will stand up to any in the market based on the quality of the Whiskey, and stand out far and away better than anything else on the shelf or back-bar.

Named for the 14th tallest tree on the planet, Redwood Empire Pipe Dream Bourbon Whiskey is our first Bourbon whiskey. Pipe Dream Bourbon is made from barrels aged between four and twelve years with a high corn mash bill. Smooth and complex, it is a true sipping whiskey.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: Powerful nose with sweet maple, vanilla, and a hint of honey.

PALATE: Rich, deep and complex with roasted pecan, vanilla, and lingering char and woody notes.

FINISH: Smooth with a hint of black pepper on the finish.
