Pur Spirits is envisioned and orchestrated by Kiki Braverman and produced in an old Bavarian farm distillery under the leadership of German Master Distiller Franz Xaver Salzgeber. True to tradition, we hand craft Pur Spirits according to time-honored principles that have been passed down and refined over centuries in the northern alpine distilleries and breweries of Bavaria. There, we craft spirits of quality – distilling just a few hundred bottles per batch. By balancing modern technology with traditional recipes and techniques we give you classic spirits with a very current view on sustainability.

Pur Spirits Geist Bierbrand Liqueur is a hop flavored whiskey liqueur, made by a distillation of craft-brewed German Marzen beer that is aged in a chestnut cask. The result is a rare and unique spirit that is somewhat akin to Scotch, but, nevertheless, rightly occupies a category all its own. We have turned back the clock and revived the German tradition of distilling beer. The secret to distilling Purgeist Bierbrand lies in our fine beer, brewed according to the German Reinheitsgebot, and generations of experience! Exceptional quality is guaranteed by excluding anything but 4 ingredients: malted barley, hops, yeast, and alpine spring water. In contrast to commercially mass produced liquors, purgeist bierbrand is small batch distilled in traditional copper pot stills to extract all the beer’s nuances. New barrels impart a luminous golden color and add chestnut notes to the bierbrand’s fine maltiness.

Tasting Notes

NOSE: Lychee, melon.

PALATE: Soft, more of a continuation of the nose.

FINISH: Vinous notes, spice.
