About
Nikka is a Japanese whisky company, that owns two whisky distilleries in Japan – Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and also Ben Nevis distillery in Scotland. The company was founded by the “father of Japanese whisky” Masataka Taketsuru.
Nikka Taketsuru Pure Malt is a vatting of whiskys from Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, and named after Masataka Taketsuru. It is a blend of malts aged 10 years on average in different types of oak casks. A high percentage of Miyagikyo malt gives a fresh fruity character, joined by mature aromas from an important sherry cask influence.

Tasting Notes
NOSE: Floral and balanced, with notes of plum jam, cut herbs, rhubarb pie, vanilla ice cream and cold coffee.
PALATE: Sweet and oily, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, buttery toffee, almond, salty butter, custard.
FINISH: Good length, creamy, notes of digestive biscuit and rhubarb crumble.
Final note: Very impressive and complex, especially taking into consideration that there are only 2 single malts involved in this blended malt.
