About
Our home is the Isle of Jura, a remote island off the west coast of Scotland. This ancient landscape of wild mountains, peaceful lochs, and raging seas is home to just 200 people. As the one and only distillery on the island, the craft of whisky making is at the heart of Jura’s small community. Established in 1810 (then known as the “Small Isles Distillery”) Jura has been crafting island matured whisky for two centuries. With peat being the main source of fuel on the island, the original distillery produced a smoky style of whisky. With the release of Jura 10 we are returning to this original style, first produced 207 years ago.
A sublty smoky Scotch whisky from Scotland’s smallest distilling Island community, Jura 10 Year Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a union of peated and unpeated whiskies, matured for 10 years in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, finished in the finest oloroso sherry butts. The result is a rich and rounded balance of subtle smoky notes with a sweet sherry finish.
