About
Clear Creek McCarthys Oregon Single Malt Whiskey comes from the Clear Creak Distillery, Portland, Oregon. Steve McCarthy, the owner and distiller, is one of the pioneers of craft distilling, he’s been making artisan spirits long before it became trendy. This whiskey is distilled from heavily peated barley, imported from Port Ellen, Scotland (the same barley is used for the majority of big bruiser Islay single malts). It is then aged in first fill, and refill Oregon white oak barrels for the total of 3 years. Bottled once a year around September. Clear Creek McCarthys Oregon Single Malt is super cool, super smoky, super small batch, and super allocated. Bottled at 42.5% alc/vol, non chill-filtered, no artificial color.
Whiskey Bible – 96 points. Best small batch whiskey in the world.
