Caol Ila distillery was founded in 1846 and is located on the island of Islay, near Port Askaig. The name of the distillery literally means “sound of Islay”, if translated from Gaelic. Caol Ila is one of the lighter style Islay malts, unlike its heavy-weight neighbours Lagavulin and Laphroaig. Besides single malt, Caol Ila whisky is also a cornerstone of different blends like Johnie Walker Black Label, and Johnie Walker Green Label.

They are also owners of the Benromach distillery – the smallest distillery in Speyside, but one that is famous for producing one of the best artisan single malt Scotch whiskys.
