Bomberger’s Declaration Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey honors the legacy of the former distillery known as Bomberger’s in the 1800’s, and later as Michter’s in 20th century.
The 2021 release of Bomberger’s is a robust Kentucky straight bourbon, at 108 proof with a broad spectrum of distinctively rich characters. For the ageing of this release, our maturation team chose special barrels, some of which were made from Chinquapin oak that has been naturally air dried for over 3 years. While similar barrels were used in the 2019 and 2020 releases, this year our production team chose to accentuate rich character and depth by adjusting the char levels of the Chinquapin barrels, thereby resulting in a wonderfully distinctive Kentucky straight bourbon.
Tasting Notes
NOSE: Toast and buttery caramel with some plum.
PALATE: Full throttle, yet remarkably smooth, with some burnt sugar and a bit of both milk chocolate and dark chocolate.
FINISH: Long, robust with complex depth.
