About
The idea behind Barrell Craft Spirits is to “explore the unique effects of different distillation methods, barrels, and aging environments, and bottle them at cask strength.” This is accomplished through outstanding relationships within the tightly-knit whiskey community and sourcing the best whiskies available without compromise. By definition, the bottlings of Barrell Spirits are limited in nature with new releases hitting the market frequently. Barrels are sourced from around the country (and the world) & shipped to Barrell’s facilities in Kentucky for additional aging and bottling.
Barrell Craft Spirits Armida Bourbon Whiskey began as an exercise in making a dream whiskey, chasing the flavors and aromas Barrell Craft Spirits prizes most in whiskey, masterfully using the art of blending to tease out flavors living on the edges of perception and bringing them to the fore. The result, after a year of intrepid experimentation, is a whiskey displaying the spice and orchard fruit so beloved within the category, amplified by an elegantly robust nature befitting BCS.
Armida is a blend of three straight bourbon whiskies finished separately in Pear Brandy, Jamaican Rum, and Sicilian Amaro Casks. Evoking northeast orchard fruit in the bloom of summer and autumn, Barrell’s founder, Joe Beatrice, named this blend after his mother, who had a farm in the region. Bottled at 56.05% alc/vol.
