About
Balblair distillery is located in Edderton, Ross-shire, Scotland, in the Highland region of Scotland. It was established in 1790, and is one of the oldest operating distilleries in Scotland. It is currently owned by Inver House Distillers. Balblair is one of the two distilleries that releases vintages of their single malt, rather than putting age statements on the bottle (the second distillery is Glenrothes). All of the expressions are released in very small quantities, with a lot of care and attention to detail, which makes Balblair one of the best single malts on the market.
Balblair 1999 2nd Release is a replacement for the 1997 vintage, it was distilled in 1999, matured in combination of ex bourbon and sherry casks and bottled in 2014 at 46% alc/vol., with out chill filtration, making it a 15 year old malt.
